of a hot tea or coffee. When you are taken back for your appointment,
you are handed a warm plush robe. From full gynecological exams, bone
density scans, digital mammography machine and ultrasounds can be performed
right in the center. No need to drive out of town for your needs.
Walk-in Appointments Now Available
The Women’s Wellness Center is pleased to offer Walk-in Wednesdays
for women who need to see a gynecologist, but don’t have an appointment.
Patients are seen by Dr. Cynthia Morris or Emily Stephens, C.N.P., for
a variety of urgent female issues such as vaginal discharge, STD testing,
UTI testing. While annual women’s wellness exams and pap smears
are not available, patients may schedule these appointments at their visit.
Walk-in Wednesdays are from 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. every Wednesday of the
month. No appointment needed.
Understanding Menopause
When women reach their 40s and 50s, their menstrual cycles will slow and
cease. While menopause is natural, it also produces disruptive side effects
that can interrupt the lives of women. These symptoms can be managed a
variety of ways—but there's often an emotional and psychological
toll to menopause, as well.
That is why, at Fayette County Memorial Hospital, we believe in providing
women the resources, support, and guidance they need to not only manage
their symptoms but also make a gentle transition to menopause. Our goal
is to ensure that our patients have the education and advocacy they need
to take on this process and continue to stay active and thriving in their
everyday lives.
