As a surgical inpatient, you can count on receiving the highest level of
pre and post-surgical care. In some cases, your physician may admit you
to the hospital the evening before your procedure. Your physician will
advise you on pre-admission testing which can be provided by our Ambulatory
Care nurses, and/or our laboratory and radiology departments prior to

surgery. We provide education both before and after your surgery. Your
loved ones may be with you before surgery. During your surgery, they may
wait in our Surgery Waiting Area. After surgery, you will spend time in
our recovery area where the staff will closely monitor your condition
until you are ready to be transferred to your room on our Medical/Surgical
Unit or in our Ambulatory Care Surgery Department. Once in your room,
all aspects of your care will be coordinated by our highly qualified nursing staff.
Surgery Facility & Staff
Fayette County Memorial Hospital is able to provide the community with
inpatient and outpatient surgery options to meet all of your needs. We
are capable of providing a wide variety of surgical procedures including
general surgery, gynecologic, ear, nose and throat, urologic, orthopedic,
ophthalmic, and plastic surgery.
