Persons in need of blood work now have an option at Fayette County Memorial
Hospital (FCMH) that allows for further social distancing and patient
safety. Beginning Wednesday, April 22, the FCMH Lab will offer curbside
bloodwork Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the lab
entrance outside the main hospital.
“Curbside testing will allow patients to limit their interaction
with others and reduce their exposure to germs in the midst of the COVID-19
pandemic,” said FCMH Leader of Business Development Whitney Gentry.
“This service is for patients with orders for bloodwork. We want
to be clear. This is not a drive up COVID-19 testing site.”
This option is in addition to the lab services available in Medical Arts
Building 2 and at the lab inside the main hospital. “This is just
another outlet to serve the community and keep patients and staff safe,”
said Gentry. For all bloodwork, patients should have their testing orders
in hand upon arrival. Patients visiting the curbside site will call 740-333-2805
and a lab representative will be out to your car to complete the test.
A sign with complete instructions will be posted at the curbside location.
For symptoms consistent with COVID-19, patients should call the Adena Coronavirus
Hotline at 740-542-SAFE (7233) for further instructions. If symptoms are
unmanageable, please visit the Emergency Department or call 9-1-1.
