Job Description


  • Purchase medical and non-medical materials, supplies, equipment and services.
  • Prepare necessary documents to process order requests.
  • Research and select products according to quality, price and serviceability in a timely manner.
  • Utilizes value analysis techniques relating to product selection and product standardization.
  • Troubleshoots and coordinates expediting of emergency requests for any department when required.
  • Troubleshoots complaints by end user departments and facilitates problem resolution. Keeps Director informed of all incidences.
  • Responds to and coordinates with Accounts Payable to resolve invoicing and credit issues in a timely manner.
  • Participates in inventory counting and reconciliation.
  • Maintaining physical and electronic files.
  • Maintains communication with suppliers as needed to facilitate timely product deliveries.
  • Verification of daily receipts.
  • Assist the Director with projects as directed.
  • Assist with receiving, reconciliation and delivery of incoming materials as needed.
  • Inspects and verifies merchandise for quantity, quality and order specifications as needed.
  • Communicates effectively with the Director on any matters relating to product changes and/or distribution issues.
  • Maintaining departmental supplies.
  • Demonstrates the values of team concept on a consistent basis.



  • Associate degree and/or purchasing experience required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction. Ability to apply analytical thought and problem solving skills to effectively resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to manage, prioritize and complete multiple assignments while meeting required deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality.
  • Adaptability to an ever changing environment.
  • Provides customer service in the form of professionalism, respect, helpfulness, knowledge and pleasant attitude.
