Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs follow up of unpaid balances by insurance companies on both the hospital and physician’s practice billing systems. Serves as the primary back-up for the various office positions such as Cashier, Cash Poster, Billing Coordinator etc. Coordinates all office functions related to preparation/maintenance of billing records for the Business Office Department.

Qualifications

POSITION EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 years hospital business office experience.
  • Medical or Insurance Billing experience required.
  • Experience required with MSWord or WordPerfect//Excel or Lotus and Microsoft Office products required.
  • Prior Medicare, Medicaid or Federal billing preferred.
  • Proven excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Good spelling and grammar skills.
  • Ability to work independently according to verbal/written instruction.
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality.
  • Should be sensitive, flexible and mature enough to cope with difficult patients, family members and possibly staff
