Mission, Vision & Values
A Tradition of Caring at Fayette County Memorial Hospital
The beginning of Fayette County Memorial Hospital can be traced back to
1944 when a group of concerned and civic-minded Ohioans decided to that
Washington Court House and the rest of Fayette County deserved access
to modern, effective healthcare. Just six years later, in 1950, Fayette
County Memorial Hospital opened its doors for the first time. Nearly 70
years later, our hospital not only still stands, but continues to be guided
by the principles its founders established all those years ago to provide
our community the best healthcare and education possible.
Our Mission
Since our founding in 1950, our mission has not changed: It is "To
improve the health of our community by providing high-quality patient
care and education." Over the years, our leadership has been committed
to keeping our facility staffed with dedicated, knowledgeable professionals
and equipped with the newest advances in medical technology.
This dedication to high-quality care also means that—as advancements
in the medical field occur—we continue to expand on the healthcare
programs, capabilities, and services we offer. We are committed to being
Fayette County's premier healthcare service provider and that means
adapting to the changing needs and concerns of our patients and community.
Our Vision
Fayette County Memorial Hospital was not established as a corporate, for-profit
healthcare facility. Instead, our founders had another vision in mind:
"To be the health and wellness provider of choice in the community."
Of course, this means providing state-of-the-art medical services—but
it also means providing medical care and education with a human touch.
Fayette County Memorial Hospital is staffed with more than 300 compassionate
medical professionals who keep the well-being of our patients at the forefront
of everything that we do. We strive to not only accommodate our patients
and their loved ones who visit our facility but to provide our community
with the outreach, programs, and services they needed to make informed,
positive choices about their health.
Our Values
The face of healthcare has changed a lot since 1950, but there are some
things about caring for patients that never change. At Fayette County
Memorial Hospital, we keep these tenants in mind with each and every patient
we welcome to our facility.
Our core values include:
- Patients always come first
- Better care comes through continuous improvement
- Success is achieved through teamwork and collaboration
