Tree of Hope

The Tree of Hope was designed by the Outpatient Specialty Clinic and is dedicated to raising money that will be used locally by Fayette County residents diagnosed with cancer. Phi Beta Psi is a partner in this project and assists the Clinic with fund raising, and funds disbursement. This program assists area cancer patients with needs that their insurance may not cover such as wigs or transportation to treatments or to assist them until they receive more encompassing financial aid from another source. Perhaps a patient may need childcare while they receive their radiation treatments or need items for their home that will make life easier as they struggle with cancer. The Tree of Hope Committee, consisting of nurses and volunteers, review written requests for funds and distributes the money accordingly. If you or anyone you know have a need for such assistance, please put in writing something detailing the situation and the specific need, and submit it to the FCMH Outpatient Specialty Clinic, 1430 Columbus Avenue, Washington C.H., Ohio 43160 Attn: Tree of Hope Committee.

Tree of Hope

Our main fundraiser is through the sale of angel ornaments and a ceremony honoring those who have survived cancer and memorializing those who have lost their life to cancer. This event takes place in December each year. Please check this website beginning in October for a specific date and instructions on how to participate in this celebration. We also accept larger donations all year long to help our neighbors fighting cancer. For further information on the Tree of Hope please contact the FCMH Outpatient Specialty Clinic (740) 333-2755.

About Phi Beta Psi
Phi Beta Psi is a national women's organization whose main purpose is to raise money for cancer research. Nationally, there are over 80 chapters in 15 states who raise money to donate to the National Project, Cancer Research. Last Year, as in years past, we gave 6 grants of 50,000 each to doctors or researchers working on projects. They typically use the money to purchase research equipment not covered under their federal and state grants. Nationally as a group we have donated over 6 million since 1942. More locally, our Ohio chapters combined raised over 85,000 last year. This is all a grass roots effort. Money is raised by holding golf outings, selling candy and nuts, raffle tickets, etc in each community. If you are interested in more information about Phi Beta Psi, please contact Dawn Ward at 740-335-1730.
