MEDICAL NUTRITION THERAPY (MNT)
Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) is available by appointment to address a range of nutrition related needs from cardiovascular and gastrointestinal diseases to diabetes and weight management. Our professional staff will work individually with you to help you improve your nutritional status through realistic goals and techniques for success. A physician referral is not necessary unless required by your insurance carrier. Please check with your insurance representative to find out what services are covered under your plan.

Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) improves patient outcomes, quality of life and lowers health-care costs.
Medicare and some other payers cover the cost of outpatient MNT provided by Registered Dietitians (RDs) for beneficiaries with diabetes, chronic renal insufficiency/end-stage renal disease (non-dialysis renal disease) and/or post kidney transplant by physician referral.
MNT includes nutritional diagnostic, therapeutic and counseling services for the purpose of disease management. Qualifying patients generally receive three hours of MNT in the first year and two hours of MNT in subsequent years. For changes in medical diagnosis, condition or treatment, additional MNT services can be ordererd.
