Therapy Services is a multidisciplinary component of Fayette County Memorial Hospital. Our highly-trained, compassionate professionals help patients improve function and independence by regaining strength, mobility, balance, coordination, and communication abilities.

Our 4500 sq. ft. facility is outfitted with a variety of modern exercise equipment to improve patient care. Our staff consists of a variety of therapists with multiple specialties, which allows us to evaluate and treat adults and children with many different diagnoses including:
•Orthopaedic injuries, including surgeries, sprains, strains, and overuse syndromes
•Balance or vestibular disorders

Occupational therapy helps individuals at all stages of life achieve maximal functional abilities. Our staff evaluates and treats people with the following needs:
•Work or leisure related injuries
•Hand, wrist and other upper extremity disabilities
•Dressing, bathing, eating and other daily activity limitations
•Splinting and orthotic needs
•Pediatric injuries or disabilities
We actively involve the patient and family in our care. We are available to inpatients, outpatients and homebound ones.
Speech-Language Pathology services treat a variety of disorders in people of all ages. Early intervention is a key factor for improvement of speech or swallowing.
You should seek the services of a Speech-Language Pathologist if:
•Sounds, words or sentences are mispronounced
•Vocal quality appears abnormal
•You have difficulty expressing or understanding language
•Coughing, choking, or discomfort occurs when swallowing
•Structural problems, such as cleft lip or palate, affect your pronunciation

There is no need to be on a waiting list for months or travel outside of the county for quality, pediatric therapy. The FCMH Pediatric Therapy team can meet all of your child’s needs right here on campus, while providing the compassionate, personalized care your family deserves. Our team of highly experienced therapists serves children with various special needs diagnoses such as:

• Coordination deficits

What to Expect
You will need a medical referral for any therapy service. Referrals are accepted from licensed physicians, dentists, podiatrists, chiropractors, or nurse practitioners. Your therapist will first perform a comprehensive evaluation to determine your needs. A treatment plan will be developed with your cooperation in order to aid in your recovery and help you return to optimal functioning. Each treatment session is customized to your specific needs.
Therapy Services is open 5 days-a-week, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Our flexible hours make scheduling around busy athletic and work commitments even easier.
